Follow-up actions by SHG "Istiqbol" on improving the accessibility of public buses

Following the public bus audit by SHG "Istiqbol" on April 14, 2011 in Tashkent, the group members have not stopped their actions on reaching their ultimate goal "Public bus must be publicly accessible!". Here in the below unofficial translation of the order immediately released by the director of the Tashkent city public transportation company. Since its release, the members of SHG "Istiqbol" have been also distributing to the drivers of buses which they use.

To chiefs of all auto companies

In the clause 10 of “Law on social protection of disabled people in Uzbekistan” provision of accessibility in social infrastructure objectives is stipulated. According to this clause, all state government bodies, organizations and enterprises are must to provide condition where disabled people, including wheelchair users and dog assisted people, have barrier-free access to social infrastructure objects (residences, public and manufacture buildings and facilities, healthcare and sport facilities, cultural and recreational places and others), railway, airway, seaway, inter and intra city transportation means, and communication and information means. In the case of violation of above mentioned requirements, according the clause 11 of the above stated law the organizations are to be obliged to pay fine in the amount equal to fifty to hundred times of minimum salary in the country fixed by the government.

Nowadays the most of complain letters and requests to joint-stock company “Toshautobustrans” come from disabled people and it is reasoned by unsatisfactory transportation services rendered by the company. The followings are the main cases that demonstrate the unacceptable level of provided services:

· not stopping the buses in the needed bus-stops;
· stopping the bus in far distances from bus-stop;
· not stopping the bus in required bus-stop areas (instead stop at the edge of main road);
· rejecting the disabled people to use the bus making excuses on the absence of bus ramps;
· and rude attitude of drivers and ticket collectors to disabled people

In order to fulfill the requirements of the law and eliminate the aforesaid shortfalls, I ask you to hold additional instructions and guidance with the drivers, control the work of drivers and report me on the conducted actions by April 26, 2011. (Guidelines are attached to the letter).

SHG "Istiqbol" enriched variety of its activities targeted to better inclusion of PWD to social life of Uzbekistan. Through celebrities the group extends the correct understanding and knowledge about the rights of PWD. On May 13, 2011 in the building of "A. Navoiy" mahalla (community) the group members, guests with and without disabilities gathered to meet with Uzbek pop singer Abduvali Rajabov for live talk, Q&A and quizzes. During this two hour meeting both sides enjoyed with free and sincere communication. The "Istiqbol" members suggested and requested the singer and his band members to extend the right understanding about PWD in public meetings and performances. It is the first such meeting and the group has plans to continue to organize more such awareness events.

Loihada “Istiqbol” guruh a`zolari bilan birgalikda boshqa imkoniyati cheklangan insonlar va sog`lom insonlardan tashkil topgan muhlislar el ardog`ida bo`lgan barcha san`atkorlar bilan ijodiy suhbatda yuzlashadilar.

Bu uchrashuvdan asosiy maqsad yon atrofdagi sog`lom insonlar va san`at ahlining imkoniyati cheklangan insonlarga bo`lgan munosabatini ijobiy tomonga o`zgartirishdir.

Shundan kelib chiqilgan holda 2011 yilli 15 may yakshanba kuni 14 : 00 da Mirzo Ulug`bek tumani Alisher Navoiy mahalla guzarida guruh rahbarlari boshchiligida loihaning ilk uchrashuv soni bo`lib o`tdi.

“Muxlislar davrasida” loihasining ilk mehmoni sifatida “Nihol” mukofoti sovrindori, el suygan honanda Abduvali Rajabov taklif etildi.

Loiha boshida Abduvali Rajabov muhlislar bilan salomlashgandan so`ng, guruh a`zolari tomonidan oldindan tayyorlangan “Kutilmagan savollar” qutichasini ochib, nomiga munosib savollar ekanligini tan olgan holda savollarga birma bir javob bera boshladi.

Savollarga javob berib bo`lgandan so`ng loihaning “jonli ijro” bo`limida ilk ijodi bol`gan “Bevafo yor” qo`shig`ini jonli ovozda kuylab muhlislarni hushnud etdi va “Xotira” qo`shig`ini guruh a`zosi Irmatova Shaxlo bilan birgalikda kuylashdi.

Jonli ijrodan so`ng muhlislar va Abduvali Rajabovga o`rtasida qizg`in va ko`ngili suhbat boshlandi. Suhbat davomida muhlislar Abduvali Rajabovga o`zlarini qiziqtirga savollarini berishdi.

Abduvali Rajabov tomonidan ajoyib bir sovg`a tariqasida prodyuseri hamda hozirgi kunda “O`zbegim taronasi” bosh muhariri Jamshid Xojiniyozov tashrif buyurdi va muhlislar Jamshid Xojiniyozovga ham o`z savollarini berishdi. Suhbatdan so`ng Abduvali Rajabov o`z muhlis va muhlisalarini hursand qilish maqsadida qo`shiqlar kuylab davradagi barcha bilan birgalikda raqsga tushishdi . Raqs tushayotganlarni ko`rgan Jamshid Xojiniyozov ham qiziqqan holda guruh a`zolari bilan o`yinga tushdi. Imkoniyati cheklangan insonlar orasida ham muhlis va muhlisalari ko`pligini ko`rgan Abduvali Rajabov chin dildan shodlandi.

Guruh a`zolari loihaning so`ngi sharti “Mantiqiy savol va javob” o`yinida mehmonlar Abduvali Rajabov, prodyusser Jamshid Xojiniyozov hamda administrator Mirhamidov Doniyor bilan bellashishdi. Bu bellashuvda ikki tomon “g`olib” deb topildi.

Suhbat so`ngida esa Abduvali Rajabov uchrashuv davomida olgan savollari orasidan o`ziga yoqgan noyob savol egasini tanlab dastxat qo`yilgan surati va qo`shiqlar to`plami tushirilgan albom diskini taqdim etdi. Bu sovg`alar egasi “Istiqbol” guruhining a`zosi Qosimova Shodiya bo`ldi.

Uchrashuv yakunida “Istiqbol” guruhi Abduvali Rajabovga guruh a`zosi Hamraboyev Ma`ruf tomonida mahsus tayyorlangan “Istiqbol guruhidan estalik” yozuvi tushirilgan suhbat mehmonining fotosuratini taqdim etishdi. Uchrashuvdan ko`ngli shodlangan Abduvali Rajabov

ilk bora bunday iliq mehirli insonlar davrasida bo`lganini va mana shu uchrashuv uzoq vaqt yodidan ko`tarilmasligini takidlab o`tdi.

Suhbatgacha o`zga hayollarda kelgan Abduvali Rajabov bu uchrashuvdan iliq tasurotlar oldi. Imkoniyati cheklangan insonlar ham sog`lom insonlar kabi xar tomonlama bilimli, aqlli va fikr doirasi kengligiga amin bo`ldi.

Jamshid Xojiniyozov ham suhbat davomida “Imkoniyati cheklangan insonlardan orlanadigan va ularni davralardan chetlatadigan ba`zi sog`lom insonlarga achinish hissi borligini va ularga rahmi kelishini, chunki jismonan sog`lom bo`lsada qalban majruhligini” aytib o`tdi. Guruh a`zolariga esa hamisha qalban sog`lom bo`lib qolishini tiladi.

“Muhlislar davrasida” deb nomlangan ijodiy uchrasuvni Abduvali Rajabov bir juft go`zal qo`shig`I ila yakunladi.

“Istiqbol” guruh a`zolari Abduvali Rajabov, Jamshid Xojiniyozov va Mirhamidov Doniyorga suhbatga kelganlari uchun tashakkur bildirib, kelgusi ijodlarida va shaxsiy hayotlarida omad va baxt tilab qolishadi.

Dear friends, with high sadness I have to inform you that one of the well-known friends of our SHG "Istiqbol" Zokir passed away in last weekend.

We have known Zokir since 2009! He had a good sence of humor, very kind human nature and strong personality. Unfortunately, on May 28, 2011 all these characteristics of Zokir left this world with him! He could not survive the serious surgery of his intestines. Many members of our SHG "Istiqbol" had known Zokir as the designer of the logo for CBR project of JICA and World Vision in Tashkent. An excellent drawing made by Zokir has been used in many public disability awareness events, and many of us with pleasure wear the shirts with that drawing. It was Zokir's contribution to disability advocacy in Uzbekistan. On March 21, 2011 Zokir turned 26. Let's remember him in our prayers!

Biz Zokirni 2009 yildan buyon bilardik. Zokir juda ham samimiy, hushchaqchaq va kuchli irodaga ega inson edi. Zokir mualliflik qilgan san'at asari kuplab ommaviy tadbirlarda namoyish etilgan. Guruhimiz a'zolari hali-hamon g'urur bilan Zokir tomonidan chizilgan suratli futbolkani kiyib yuramiz. 21 Mart, 2011 da Zokir 26 yoshga tuldi. Keling, Zokirni haqqiga duo qilaylik barchamiz!

Житель Ташкента, инвалид с детства, Хасанбой Бурханов, организует масштабную акцию - автомарафон "За равные возможности", в рамках которого он совершит кругосветное путешествие на автомобиле.

Возглавляющий городское отделение Узбекского общества инвалидов, Хасанбой Бурханов под флагом Узбекистана планирует летом этого года совершить марафон по маршруту: Узбекистан – Казахстан – Россия – Южная Корея – Канада – США – Англия – ЕВРОСОЮЗ (Франция, Бельгия, Голландия, Германия, Дания, Швеция, Финляндия) – Россия – Казахстан – Узбекистан.

Завершить путешествие планируется осенью 2011 года.

Как OLAM.uz сообщил сам Хасанбой Бурханов, время проведения автомарафона составит около 6 месяцев. Весь путь маршрута будет вещаться в режиме онлайн, с фиксацией на видеорегистратор, и в каждой стране пребывания пройдет пресс-конференция, где будут освещаться цели и задачи автомарафона.

Хасанбой Бурханов - заядлый гонщик, несмотря на свой недуг (полиомиелит нижних конечностей), на протяжении 17 лет управляет автомобилем. Гонки для него – это даже не хобби, а жизнь и возможность самовыражения. Свой кругосветный автомарафон он приурочит к 20-летию Независимости Узбекистана.

Заезд будет осуществлен на благотворительные средства, по подсчетам, общая сумма с переездами и перелетами составит $120 тыс.

По окончании проекта будет снят документальный фильм и издана книга об организации и проведении кругосветного автомарафона "За равные возможности".

В нашей стране и в странах СНГ это первый подобный случай, когда инвалид решил совершить автомарафон и заявить об этом на весь мир.

Existence of strong laws and awareness about those laws are not enough to make the changes. Without actions the challenging conditions will not change and it is vital to understand that if the actions are not lead by the affected, the result will be for short time and will not sustain. Keeping this thought in mind, four members of Self-Help Group “Istiqbol” Sultonova Saodat (on wheelchair), Qodirova Nargiz (with crutches), Irmatova Shahlo (on wheelchair) and Hamrabaev Maruf (with crutches) decided to conduct public bus accessibility check in Tashkent city with the assistance of two parents and group volunteer Mirjahon Turdiyev. On April 14, 2011 (Thursday) these seven persons started this audit and advocacy action with having joint lunch at one on the crowded restaurants of Tashkent in front of main circus building in old town. One hour of lunch time was planned for visibility and promotion of social inclusion of persons with disabilities (PWD).

Following the lunch, the team started trip from the nearest bus stop. It was observed that some bus stops were accommodated for wheelchair users. But the accommodation of bus stop is useless when the bus drivers do not know how to properly stop the bus that PWD can easily enter the bus. The discouraging and discriminating attitude of some bus drivers and ticket collectors to PWD are other key factors of making the buses inaccessible for PWD. During this two hour trip, the group faced various attitudes by bus drivers/ticket collectors, other passengers, police men, and street passer-bys. Out of audited six buses one bus driver was careful and attentive to the special needs of PWD by asking in which bus stop the group would get off and how better to stop the bus for easier get off. Most of the drivers would not want the PWD to use the buses by explaining that the buses don’t have ramps or the wheelchairs would not fit to the bus doors. Such unpleasant communication is harmful not only for PWD, but for older people too who is dependant on walking stick and can’t easily enter the bus if bus is not near enough to the bus stop. Almost all co-passengers of buses tried to help the PWD to get into the bus and welcomed such awareness initiative of the group. The advocacy event ended with going to public cinema to watch new Uzbek. At the cinema the group members received good support by local police men in getting through 20-stage stairs to the hall.

The next day, April 15, one of group members addressed to the management of the bus company “ToshShaxarAvtoTransServis” explaining the challenges and problems faced during the bus trips. During the trip the number plates and route numbers of buses were recorded and accordingly the bus company was informed about them. On April 18, 2011 the manager of the company invited the group members and misbehaved bus drivers to his office to sort out the situation. From the beginning the group members informed the bus company that their intention was not to complain about the drivers or punish them, but their intention and goal were to give recommendations and explanations to bus company on how closely stop the bus to the bus-stop borders for easier access of PWD or older people to the bus. Also, the group members recommended the bus company to organize special educational courses on communication skills for drivers and ticket collectors and hire only the ones who could successfully pass the exams and receive some kind certificate or ID. The group members shared the sample from law on social protection of PWD where for violation of accessibility provision in public buses the companies are obliged to pay fine in the amount equal to seventy times of minimum wage in the country fixed by government. The manager of “ToshShaxarAvtoTransServis” promised to develop guideline/instructions for bus drivers where the reference to the law will be mentioned, recommendations of group members will be included and disseminated to all bus parks of Tashkent to follow.

Bu muammolar nafaqat imkoniyati cheklangan insonlarni balki qariyalarga shu jumladan sog`lom insonlarga ham qiyinchiliklar tug`diryapganligi tufayli 2011 yili 15 aprel kuni “ToshShaxarAvtoTransServis” boshqarmasiga murojat qilishdi.

2011 yili 18 aprel kuni “ToshShaxarAvtoTransServis” boshqarmasiga guruh a`zolari bilan birgalikda sayohat paytida qo`pol muomalada bo`lib avtobuslarga nogironlar aravachasida pandus yordamida chiqishni so`ralganga rad javobini berish bilan birgalikda aravachalarni ko`tarishib chiqarishda bosh tortib bekatda guruh a`zolarini qoldirib ketgan haydovchilarni chaqirtirishdi. Bu yig`ilishda haydovchi yoki chiptachilar jazolanishini emas balki yo`l qo`yilayotgan qo`pol hatolar ijobiy yutuqlarga o`zgartirilishini istagan guruh a`zolari “ToshShaxarAvtoTransServis” boshqarmasiga bir qator chiptachilar va avtobus haydovchilarni ishga qabul qilishdan oldin muomala ma`daniyat kurslari ochib, u yerda taxsil olib sertifikat yoki shunga o`xshash hujjatga ega haydovchilarni ishga qabul qilish kerakligi, avtobus haydovchilarni avtobuslarni bekat bordyurlariga yaqin qilib to`xtatishlari imkoniyati cheklangan insonlar, qariyalar va yo`lovchilar shu bordyurlardan qiynalmay avtobuslarga chiqishlarini taminlashlari shartligi, shaxar bo`ylab avtobus bekatlari avtobus qatnov xaritalari bilan taminlanishi shartligini takidlangan talab, taklif va qonunlarni taqdim etishdi.

“ToshShaxarAvtoTransServis” boshqarma boshlig`I guruh a`zolari tomonidan bildirilgan talab, taklif va birqancha “O`zbekiston Respublikasida imkoniyati cheklangan insonlarni ijtimoiy himoya qilish to`g`risida”gi qonunlarni 2 – bob. 9 –10 – 11 moddalarini yo`riqnoma sifatida tayyorlab, barcha avtoparklarga tarqatilib, shu yuzasidan ish rejalari tuzib ishlashni va`da qildi.

Development is an inclusive process: a new project by UNDP and Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan

Having a job allows us to treat our family with tasty food, enjoy friendships with our colleagues and most importantly see our personal contribution in helping the country prosper. Employment and creation of new jobs is one of government priorities.

Considering the scope and complexity of this task, partnerships of state organizations, private business and civil society institutions are crucial. This year 12^th of April marked the day of the launch of a new project “Inclusive employment and social partnership” (Inclusive Employment) which will be implemented by UNDP and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population in partnership with the Women’s Committee, Uzbek Society of Disabled, Republican Council of Trade Unions, National Center on Human Rights and others. The project will work to help persons with disabilities and women.
The Inclusive Employment project will be working the following 3 years in 5 regions of Uzbekistan including Tashkent, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, Bukhara and Djizak. The project will consist of several inter-related components that improve employment policy making, data-collection, analysis and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) by creating an on-line “Labour market” system, involving civil society organizations in policy making, supporting women for realizing their professional potential and mainstreaming gender and increasing capacity of NGOs and state bodies in providing vocational training, employment and other social services.

Creating new social enterprises, one of the integral components of the project, will support work integration of people experiencing difficulties in the labour market or at risk of exclusion from the labour market and society. To this day over 2,400 people with disabilities are employed at social enterprises created as part of organizations dealing with disabled people, making up 7% of the total employed persons with disabilities who work in the official sector of the economy. As a final result of the project more than 500 persons with disabilities and vulnerable women will be employed giving 500 more people a chance to live a better and inclusive life.

The Inclusive Employment project is a follow up to the successful partnership between UNDP and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population in promoting rights of persons with disabilities. The «ACCESS» - accessibility, citizenship, employment and social support for persons with disabilities - project empowered social integration and employment for people with disabilities by raising awareness and creating a positive public opinion on issues of disability, improved coordination and capacity of public and non-state actors in implementing national legislation in the field of disability, promoted access to social infrastructure and created a system of social support and employment of people with disabilities.

One of the young members of SHG "Istiqbol" Shodiya Qosimova was one of the semi-finalists of Duskin Leadership Program for 2011 (More info about Duskin program can be found here: http://www.dinf.ne.jp/doc/english/duskin/index.html). The representatives of the program visited Tashkent to interview and meet with Shodiya and SHG. On March 31, 2011 the leaders of SHG "Istiqbol" had a friendly dinner with the representatives of Duskin program at one of the beautiful Uzbek restaurants in Tashkent "Sim-Sim". Short meeting with Japanese colleagues and disability leaders was very meaningful and useful.

CA-NEWS (KG) - При Комитете Жогорку Кенеша КР по права человека, равным возможностям и общественным объединениям создан Совета по делам лиц с ограниченными возможностями здоровья. Такое решение принято членами комитета 21 февраля на очередном заседании комитета. Как сказал председатель комитета Дастан Бекешев, данный Совет станет площадкой для выработки законодательных инициатив в целях обеспечения защиты прав лиц с ограниченными возможностями.

On February 6, 2011 LLC "Istiqbol Service Plyus" and SHG "Istiqbol" initiated and organized inclusive love contest named "Love lives in the Heart!". The event was devoted to Saint Valentine's Day on February 14. The main goal of the event to send a message to the society about the rights and abilities of persons with disabilities to create and enjoy with beautiful love. The message was sent through several various contests like romantic poems, songs, composing flower bouquets and salads among four teams. Each team was composed of one boy and one girl with & without disability. Nearly 200 persons participated in the event. As always, Hotel "Grand Mir Tashkent" as one of the few fully accessible premises in Uzbekistan hosted the event. The students of the #3 college of the University of World Languages were active participants of the contest from the beginning of preparation and till the end. The jury of five persons from SHG "Istiqbol", UNDP, Hotel "Grand Mir Tashkent", famous professional actress Dinloza Kubaeva and well-known teacher evaluated the performances of the teams and awarded them with nice gifts. Professional media studio "Pan Terra" conducted a contest among the visitors and the four winner visitors were provided free tickets to a national gala concert on February 14 devoted to Saint Valentine's Day. Musical center "Orom", famous artists (singers and actors) Dilnoza Kubaeva, Alisher Uzoqov, Sanjar Usmonov, Jasur Mavlonov, Leyla and band "Ummon" gave a joyful mood to the event with their disco and classic songs.

The organizers specially thank to Hotel "Grand Mir Tashkent" management for its invaluable support, "ACCESS" Project of UNDP Uzbekistan, Studio "Pan Terra", Private transportation "Taxi Lyuks", actor Alisher Uzoqov, actress Dilnoza Kubaeva, singers Jasur Mavlonov and Sanjar Usmonov for the continuous attendance in the events of SHG "Istiqbol".

2011 6 fevral “Grand Mir” mehmonxonasida 14 fevral butun jahon “sevishganlar” kuniga bag`shlangan “Sevgi yurakda yashaydi!” nomli bayram kechasini “Istiqbol Servis Plyus” M.Ch.J uyushtirishdi. Bu unutilmas kechaga bir qancha tashkilotlardan ko`pgina mehmonlar tashrif biyurishdi.

Kecha shunchaki ko`ngil ochar kecha emas, balki har hil shartlar asosida bir maqsad ko`zlangan. Ya`ni imkoniyati cheklangan insonlar ham, barcha insonlar qatorida sevish va sevilish huquqi va imkoniyatiga va kundalik turmush tarzda barcha yumushlarni bajara olishlarini ko`rsata bilish.

Bayram oqshomi dasturida O`zDJTU qoshidagi 3 – sonli akademik litseyi 2 – kurs, 206 guruh xorijiy filologiya fakulteti talabalari bilan hamkorligida tuzilgan to`rt juftlik guruhlari bellashishdi. U bo`lsin hoh jismoniy mehnat, hoh aqliy mehnat, hoh san`atda o`z iqtidorlarini namoyon eta olishdi.

Su bilan birgalikda estrada yulduzlari Dilnoza Kubayeva, “UMMON” guruhi, Alisher Uzoqov, Jasurbek Mavlonov, Sanjar Usmonov, “Orom” guruhi Shavkat Safar, Lela go`zal qoshiqlarini kuylagan holda, mehmonlar ko`nglini hushnud etishdi.

Dastur kechasida Pan Terra studiyasi bilan xamkorlikda kechada ishtirok etgan insonlar o`rtasida har hil ko`ngil ochar o`yinlar o`tkazdi. G`oliblarga 14 fevral kuni Turkiston san`at saroyida bo`lib o`tadigan gala konsertga chiptalar birishdi.

So`ngra kechda bellashib g`olib va g`olibalik nashidasini surga guruh, hamda guruhlarga mahsus tayyorlangan sovg`lar topshirildi.

Bu bayram oqshomi “GRAND MIR” mexmonhonasi, “BMTTD” tashkiloti, “O`zDJTU” qoshidagi 3 – sonli akademik litseyi, hususiy transport firmasi "Taxi Lyuks", “Istiqbol servis plyus” mas`ulliyati cheklangan jamiyat, va “Pan Terra” studiyasi hamkorligida utkazildi.

One of the active and young members of SHG "Istiqbol", Shodiya celebrated her birthday with her peers from the SHG and the college of World Languages University where has been studying since 2009. The celebration took place in the the hotel "Grand Mir". Few words about this hotel: This hotel is very special for SHG "Istiqbol" and other Disabled People's Organizations in Tashkent. Because the management and personnel of the hotel are very kind and supportive to people with disabilities. Most importantly, this is one the very few hotels in Tashkent with full accessible conditions for people with disabilities.

Nearly 50 people came to congratulate Shodiya with her birthday. Around nicely decorated table the guests had very nice chat with good food and drinks. The famous Uzbek singers energized the event with their for-dance songs. It was a very good visible message to the students and teachers of Shodiya's college, who took part in this party, that persons with and without disabilities can have fun together. Shodiya's classmates expressed interest in being closer to SHG "Istiqbol" and organize joint events. Later the same day we received information from Japan that Shodiya was selected for interview stage by Duskin Leadership Training program in Japan to which she applied in October 2010. We wish Shodiya to be selected as participant of this great leadership program.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed in Uzbekistan - Международный день людей с инвалидностью отмечается в Узбекистане

This year International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed more widely and inclusively in Uzbekistan. Newly established Self-Help Group of persons with disability "Istiqbol" initiated and organized an event to observe this internationally recognized day. The event brought together over 150 people from seven DPOs, political party, local government, private businesses, several reknowned uzbek celebrities and international organizations. The main aim of the event was to send a visible message to the event visitors that persons with disabilities are equal with everyone and have the same rights. The event consisted of a comedian play by youth with & without disabilities jointly where a stigma of marriage of a boy with disability and girl without disability was raised. The Art-Bazaar of crafts made by persons with disabilites combined the goods of five DPOs. Through the Art-Bazaar DPOs could get financial and professional benefit. Moreover, the DPOs were invited to other similar bazaars by the participants. Network among the DPOs widened as a result of this event. Following the Art-Bazaar, another two hours of the event lasted with disco party where popular uzbek singers made great songs. Two national TV channels, one radio channel and one magazine broadcasted the event and published articles. According to event organizers (SHG "Istiqbol"), the most succesful moment of this event was bringing two youth with severe disabilities to the event. They are Zokir, who is 25 years old and has not been out of his house for over four years due to lack of confidence in going out and limitation in mobility, and Aziza, who is 18 years old and has not been out of her house for many years due to limitation in mobility and lack of confidence of parents to bring her out.
